Social Responsibilty

All of us in Megaplast, along with the dynamic growth that our company has been making in recent years, we give great importance to improving the quality of our fellow human beings & the environment.

MEGAPLAST & NATIONAL EMERGENCY CENTER

As part of our social contribution and corporate responsibility, our company made a significant double donation to National Emergency Center of Crete Greece providing:

  • Modern equipment for disinfecting ambulances as part of the fight against COVID-19 disease
  • Special multi-parameter monitors for Cardiogram, Oximetry, Pressure, Temperature and so on. to be installed in all ambulances 

The aim of the donations is to cover important needs of EKAB Crete in a very demanding period we all are going through. 

The National Emergency Center awarded an honorary plague to Megaplast's representatives for such as this contriburion!

All of us, the Megaplast family, are very happy to have been able to contribute to this fight & hope to be winners soon!

We have been awarded a Silver Medal Recognition for our Corporate Social Responsibility by Ecovadis. This places us among the top 30% performers evaluated by EcoVadis.

The Forest of Megaplast: Tree-Nation

We commit to plant trees as a part of our CSR. When we plant a tree, we offset our CO2 emissions. The organization "tree-nations" calculates the amount of CO2 every time we plant a tree and in that way we can keep track of our impact on the environment.

 

United Nations: Global Compact

We have become members of the UN where we support, through the Letter of Commitment to the United Nations, the ten (10) Principles on Human Rights, Labor, the Environment and the fight against corruption.

Megaplast Social Contribution

We have launched a series of actions in Greece for social contribution with the immediate aim at making the best possible contribution to this improvement:

  • Donation to the Cardiac Surgery Unit of the Medical School of the University Hospital of Crete (PAGNI), Greece 2019
  • Donation to the “Good Samaritan” charity club in Crete, Greece 2018 & 2019
  • Donation to "The Smile of the Child" charity club in Heraklion, Crete, Greece 2018, 2019 & 2020
  • Donation to the Nursery School in Kallithea, Crete, 2019
  • Sponsorship at the 3rd Festival of "Robotics & Steam" of the Educational Robotics & Science in Crete, Greece 2019
  • Sponsorship at the "Start-Up Greece" Conference in Crete, Greece 2018 & 2019
  • Sponsorship at the "Art Road" Festival of the Foundation for Research and Technology (FORTH) in Crete, Greece 2018
  • Sponsorship at the "7th Panhellenic Conference on Thermal Analysis & Thermometry THERMA 2016" at the University of Ioannina, Greece

We will continue with dynamic initiatives and actions to effectively support  socially sensitive groups, cultural and environmental associations, and to invest in health, education and security.
