INAUGURATION OF THE NEW MEGAPLAST INDUSTRIAL PLANT IN THIVA

The inauguration of the new industrial plant of MEGAPLAST, a globally leading manufacturer in the field of flexible packaging, took place today in Thiva, with splendor and ceremony, in the presence of top government and local authorities’ officials.

 

 

Present at the inauguration ceremony were the Minister of Development & Investments Mr. Adonis Georgiadis, the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy Mr. Yiannis Plakiotakis, the Deputy Minister for Spatial Planning and Urban Environment Mr. Nikolaos Tagaras, the Deputy Minister for Sports Mr. Lefteris Avgenakis, the Regional Governor of Central Greece Mr. Fanis Spanos, the Regional Governor of Crete Mr. Stavros Arnaoutakis, the Mayor of Thiva Mr. Giorgos Anastasiou, the Member of the European Parliament Mr. Manolis Kefalogiannis, the M.P. of Heraklion Mr. Maximos Senetakis, the M.P. of Rethymnon Mr. Giannis Kefalogiannis et al.

 

 

The construction of the plant in Thiva was part of the EUR 23 million investment program implemented by MEGAPLAST over the last three years and will strengthen the company’s production capacity and portfolio with innovative and sustainable products. The new plant is situated in a total area of 72,000 m2 with a covered area of 9,100 m2. The construction of the plant was completed in one year and is expected to employ 70 people.
